Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, born Ahmad Fadeel al-Nazal al-Khalayleh, was a Jordanian jihadist who ran a terrorist training camp in Afghanistan. He became known after going to Iraq and being responsible for a series of bombings, beheadings, and attacks during the Iraq War, reportedly "turning an insurgency against US troops" in Iraq "into a Shia–Sunni civil war". He was sometimes known by his supporters as the “Sheikh of the slaughterers".

Samīħ al-Qāsim al Kaissy(Arabic: سميح القاسم‎; Hebrew: סמיח אל קאסם‎; 1939 – August 19, 2014) was a Palestinian poet whose work is well known throughout the Arab world. Son of a Druze family, he was born in Transjordan and lived in Israel throughout his childhood and adult life. His poetry is influenced by two primary periods of his life: before and after the Six-Day War - until 1967 he was mainly influenced by Arab nationalism; in 1967 he joined the Israeli Communist political party, Rakah, and later activated in the closely related Front for Democracy and Equality "Hadash".

Ayman Safadi is a Jordanian politician who serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was first appointed on 15 January 2017, replacing Nasser Judeh.

Ahmad Aladdin Arslan was a Jordanian military leader of Chechen descent. He attained the rank of Major General. He was the only officer to have received the Jordanian Order of Military Gallantry "Wisam al-Iqdam al-Askari" twice. He was famous for leading the response to the 1976 terrorist attack on the Amman InterContinental Hotel.

Haifa Yousef Fadel Najjar is the Jordanian Minister of Culture. He was appointed as minister on 11 October 2021.

Abdul Baqi Jammoh, also known as Jammu, was a Jordanian politician. He served in both houses of the Parliament of Jordan, several times as a member of the House of Deputies and as member of the Senate between 1997 and 2001. During his time in the Senate Jammoh was part of the Islamist faction. Jammoh was member of the cabinet twice. He first served as Minister of state for parliamentary affairs between 1989 and 1991. His second position was that of Minister of state for legal and parliamentary affairs between 1994 and 1995. Jammoh was born in Zarqa.

Taghreed Hikmat is a Jordanian judge. She was Jordan's first female judge when she started in 1998. She was also a judge on the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda from 2003 to 2011. Later she served in the Senate of Jordan. Since October 2020 she has been a judge on the Constitutional Court of Jordan.
